Girondins-Bordeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu has missed yet another match with his French Ligue 1 club, as his expected quick recovery from an injury he copped during action with the Super Eagles has failed to go according to plan, megasportsarena.com reports.
In contrast with the high air of enthusiasm raised by the crew at Bordeaux that Kalu would be back in no time at all, after bowing out of the Eagles’ international friendly with Algeria in October, the former SK Trencin of Slovakia and KAA Gent of Belgium lad remains out on the sidelines.
The situation left Kalu out of contention for a place with the squad for this weekend’s Ligue 1 clash away to Paris-Saint Germaine, thereby putting a darker cloud over assurances by Bordeaux coach, Jean-louis Gasset that the Nigerian lad’s latest injury is not serious.
The winger was not listed in Bordeaux’s squad to battle PSG, after he appeared to have suffered a relapse of a hamstring injury he suffered on international duty that has now sidelined him for several weeks.
Although Kalu got a glimmer of hope when he started in his team’s 1-0 win at Stade Rennes, he was forced off with complaints after an hour and, though Gasset declared that the injury was not serious, the reverse continues unfolding for the versatile lad.
