Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze is set to earn improved pay at his modest club in La Liga, as the Super Eagles’ rookie is now on the verge of sealing terms of a new contract with the outfit that is fondly called The Yellow Submarine, megasportsarena.com reports.
Information on offer from The Land of The Armada indicates that Chukwueze is bound to get better trappings on his latest deal with Villarreal, as officials of the club are impressed with his efforts in the team.
Added to Chukwueze’s performances with Villarreal are his elevated status with the Nigerian national team, in which he scored during his debut at the Africa Cup of Nations and helped the Eagles win bronze in Egypt, after which a horde of top clubs across Europe started lining up for his likely transfer next summer.
With the like of Arsenal and Liverpool repeatedly linked with deals for Chukwueze, Villarreal are now moving fast in their attempt to tie him down, as the club have now lined him up for a new deal and contract extension at La Ceramica Stadium.
This comes in recognition of Chukwueze’s outstanding efforts with Villarreal in his debut season in La Liga, which he has continued even into the ongoing term, such that The Yellow Submarine aim to cash in on any possible summer transfer with a new release clause of 60 million euro, in a bid to fend off interest from rival clubs.
With that in mind, Villarreal’s officials have already met with Chukwueze’s representatives over terms of the new contract, with expectations of both parties reaching an agreement on the value of the expected increment of salary and other trappings for him in an improved deal.
