Villarreal of Spain winger, Samuel Chukwueze has received a fresh shower of accolades from the president of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Melvin Amaju Pinnick, who believes the Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup revelation still has a lot of thrills ahead of him, megasportsarena.com reports.
While reflecting on his expectations from Chukwueze and other Super Eagles’ players in this Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations first leg qualifier against Sierra Leone in Benin City, Pinnick stressed that he is happy seeing the product of Diamond Football Academy of Umuahia doing well with his Spanish LaLiga club.
Indeed,, Chukwueze and The Yellow Submarine are currently riding high in the league table, with the Eagles’ youngster contributing his fair sheer of thrills, assists and goals to their unexpected surge, which Pinnick says is a reflection of how much the youngster has improved.
The NFF boss went on to add that Chukwueze’s fellow-Chilef 2019 revelation and top scorer from that competition, Victor Osimhen is equally proving his mettle as a star of the future for Nigerian football.
At just 21, Osimhen became the most expensive African-born player ever with his summer move from Lille MetrOpole of France to SSC Napoli of Italy, while Chukwueze has a release clause of 100 million euro at Villarreal, and Pinnick enthused that it is only a matter of time before both lads take the soccer world by storm.
Pinnick told Arise TV: “Osimhen and Chukwueze they are the next big thing to come out from the continent of Africa because these players are so passionate about the game of football and their country.
If you look at Osimhen he started from U17, that was when I just newly got elected, I led them to Chile and he was the highest goalscorer in that tournament, and he started from Wolfsburg then to one other club on loan then to Lille and now to Napoli.”
