Paul Onuachu, Cyriel Dessers Set For Genk Exit Door

1

The future of Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers at Belgian club Genk looks cloudy after club coach explained uncertainties surrounding both Nigerian internationals, Megasportsarena.com reports.

Recently married Onuachu has been listed among the players wanted by West Ham and Tottenham.

While a new price tag of £17m has been for the leggy forward, who is wanted by a plethora of clubs during this summer transfer, Dessers case isn’t however clear.

Genk coach, Wouter Vrancken revealed that he was unsure of Onuachu’s stay at the club ahead of the new season.

He also spoke about Cyriel Dessers’ future.

“A perception has been created that we are going to keep a big clean in the core,” Vrancken told Belang van Limburg.

“For me that is not necessary. My first impression of the boys is purely positive; I would like to work with them all.

“One of the issues is the striker position. Just like last year, it is doubtful whether Onuachu will stay in the Cegeka Arena, while Cyriel Dessers also enjoys a lot of interest after his strong loan spell to Feyenoord.

“For the time being, they (Dessers and Onuachu) are both still here.

“But the reality is that the situation may be different by the start of the competition.”

Onuachu, who scored 23 goals and made three assists in 43 games for the club last season, is also being linked with other clubs like Sevilla and Benfica.
