RSC Anderlecht of Belgium attacker, Paul Mukairu has entered the transfer radar of Tottenham Hotspur of England, but he is already on the verge of a 4.5m Euro link with AS Roma of Italy, megasportsarena.com gathered.
Information on offer from his club’s base in Brussels reveals that Anderlecht are now torn between continuing their tentative talks with Roma or turning attention on the interest from Spurs, who are reportedly keen on a deal for Mukairu this summer.
The report adds that Tottenham are the latest club keen to sign Mukairu, who has impressed on loan at Anderlecht from Antalyaspor of Turkey and the 21-year-old winger, who is also said to be under the eyes of Bayer Leverkusen of Germany could first sign a full transfer with his current team for three million Euros.
According to Calciomercato, Leverkusen and Roma are interested in taking the player on board next season, but Anderlecht could exercise their purchase option in their loan agreement with Antalyaspor and then sell him to Roma, who are reportedly willing to release 4.5 or 5m euro for a deal.
That would yield a return of at least 50%, but another report by British tabloid, Sunday Mirror disclosed that Tottenham are confident of signing Mukairu when the transfer window re-opens for business, though Anderlecht have an option to make his current oan spell a full contract.
The report adds: “Anderlecht intend to trigger the purchase option and sell him directly at a profit to an interested club in the summer. Tottenham Hotspur are not the only team battling to sign Mukairu as Villarreal and Bayer Leverkusen have also been credited with an interest.
“The Bundesliga club are in the market for a winger as a possible sale of Leon Bailey could be on the cards in the summer. Mukairu has directly participated in eight goals in 20 appearances for Anderlecht, fourteen of which he was named in the starting line-up.”
