Lille Metropole of France striker, Victor Osimhen will enter this weekend’s Ligue 1 clash against Sporting Dijon with only victory on his mind, as he wants his side to recover from the setback of their home defeat by Ajax Amsterdam of Holland in the UEFA Champions League, megasportsarena.com reports.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Osimhen, who has nine goals to his name since his summer arrival from Sporting Charleroi of Belgium, equally admitted his personal target for the encounter, as he hopes increase his tally against Dijon.
He admitted that his side were not at their best against Ajax in midweek, but interjected that it is now behind them and they now have to focus on the match at hand, ahead of which they should check their mistakes and make corrections in order to come out on top.
With The Great Danes bugged down by a five-game winless run, Osimhen is also quick to admit that they need a massive burst to revive their season, and he is of a view that compensating their fans for the errors enacted against Ajax would be a good way to set things right again, as they now have only Ligue 1 to think about heading into 2020.
Osimhen posited: “We must analyse our performance and see the mistakes made on this match because we were not at our best. We must restart our season against Dijon this weekend to create a dynamic in the league. I took a yellow card after an action where I thought I deserved a free-kick, I was upset but it’s normal for a player like me to be emotionally involved.”
