Leganes of Spain defender, Kenneth Omeruo has come out with a startling revelation that his latest injury copped in action with the club could have been worse, but says God helped him scale through, megasportsarena.com reports.
The injury has already ruled Omeruo out of his second straight international friendly for the Super Eagles, but the dark-skinned stopper went philosophical in declaring that it is better to stay out for a while than to suffer a long term complaint.
With that in mind, Omeruo is already thinking about bouncing back pretty fast and being able to get back into the thick of action with his La Liga club after the upcoming international break, as he believes God’s backing that saw him avoid a ghastly knock will boost his recovery process.
In spite of his latest injury, Omeruo showed that he still has a big heart and the zeal to keep giving to those in need, as he has boosted his former domestic club, Sunshine Stars of Akure’s preparations for the new season with the donation of new training materials to the Club.
Such it was that Omeruo on Wednesday handed The Owena Waves sets of bibs and dozens of balls, which were presented to the team on his behalf by the club captain, Sunday Abe during the evening training session at Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure.
Speaking from his base in Spain, Omeruo posited that the little gesture was just the start of what he has in mind for the Akure-based club, whose president, Otunba Tajudeen Akinyemi was on ground to receive the materials.
Akinyemi thanked Omeruo for the gifts and seized the moment to urge the club’s players to work hard and lay ground for successful careers, like that of the Eagles’ stopper, whose course to full recovery would surely be boosted by several prayers extended to him during the presentation.
The former Chelsea of England star, who was injured in a similar situation before the Africa Cup of Nations, when he had to be substituted during in Leganes’ final game of the season away at relegated Huesca, added that he has a thankful heart, because the injury could have been worse.
Omeruo took to social media to reveal his gratitude and next line of action, as he posted: “Thankful Heart.. it could have been worse but God gat me.. #ALLGOD #GODISEVERYTHING.”
