NNL urges fairplay, diligence on final day of season
The Ad-hoc Committee of the Nigeria National League has sent word out to all teams involved in the final day of the season to observe fairplay and diligence in their matches on Sunday, 30th October 2016.
With Remo Stars, Katsina United and Gombe United having already picked promotion tickets to the Nigeria Professional Football League, all eyes are on the highly competitive Group B2 to produce the fourth team for the NPFL on Sunday.
As things stand, any of Bayelsa United of Yenagoa, ABS FC of Ilorin, Crown FC of Ogbomosho and Gateway FC of Abeokuta can end up with the prize after Sunday’s games.
“We want to urge fairplay, good conduct, and sportsmanship on the part of players and officials, and diligence on the part of match officials in all the centres on Sunday, while reiterating that no match will be played under closed door,” Barr. Seyi Akinwunmi, chairman of the committee, told thenff.com.
Akinwunmi, also the NFF 1st Vice President, added: “We also call on the supporters of all the home teams and the visiting teams to be well –behaved, and at the end of the day, let football be the winner.”
ABS FC will host Gateway FC at the Kwara Sports Complex, Ilorin while Crown FC is away to Bendel Insurance at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.
Bayelsa United will take on J. Atete FC at Omuku, as Cofine FC host First Bank of Lagos in Ikot Ekpene
