RSC Anderlecht of Belgium striker, Paul Mukairu has gained another boost to his fast-rising status at the historic club, as on the Brussels-based side’s legends, Marc Degryse believes the youngster has what it takes to improve the team’s impact in front of goal, megasportsarena.com reveals.
As the club’s crew aim to boost their firepower and ensure that the squad qualifies for the championship playoffs, Degryse declared that he has a lot of rust in Mutairu to hold his own, even in the midst of several attacking players brought in to assist fellow-Nigerian-born striker Lukas Nmecha.
Rather than leave Nmecha to carry the team’s goal-scoring duties single-handedly this season, 21-year-old Mukairu has started the last 12 games of Anderlecht, but will face more competition for a regular stating spot, as the club battle for a top-four finish that will catapult them into the championship playoffs.
Degryse is, however, throwing his weight behind the striker-cum-winger, who has scored two goals and provided four assists, as he believes the lad should keep his place in the starting roster and posited: “I would also leave Mukairu there (in first team). The boy can do something. The most important thing is that (Vincent) Kompany increases the scoring ability in the front.”
