Brighton & Hove Albion of England female team striker, Ini Umotong is relishing her third goal overall for the team this season and first in the Women’s Soccer League (WSL) , as it helped her side keep pace with the leading pack in the title race, megasportsarena.com reports.
Umotong took to social media to celebrate her effort, as the former Super Falcons’ star noted that she played a key role in ensuring The Seagulls’ ladies romped back from a goal down to get a 2-2 draw in the home fixture against Reading.
Brighton were down by a goal early on but soon leveled the score, after which Umotong then shot them into the lead, following a pass from Lec Le Garrec in the 34th minute and the striker scored her first goal of the season in front of the home fans.
The hosts’ team’s defence was, however, unable to hold on, and they conceded an equaliser in added time, but it was an evening of positives for Umotong, who lasted the duration and has now scored three goals in 11 appearances across all competitions for her club so far this season.
