Milwaukee Bucks of America star, Giannis Adetokunbo (Antetokounmpo) has apparently given up hope of his side winning this season’s title in USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA) league, as he says Utah Jazz are currently the best team in the Western Conference, megasportsarena.com reports.
While many pundits are giving the conference title to Los Angeles Lakers, Antetokounmpo opted to demure and, speaking in the wake of The Bucks’ 129-115 loss to The Jazz on Friday, ‘The Greek Freak’ stressed that the side from Utah look very impressive and imposing on current form.
Incidentally, a personal haul of 47 points by the Nigerian-born Greece international could not save The Bucks from defeat in their previous game, only for them to also loss to The Jazz, following which Antetokounmpo served out a large dose of complimentary words for his team’s conquerors as the best team in the West.
On the strength of another individual display of excellence, Antetokounmpo garnered 29 points and 15 rebounds, but his efforts could not save The Bucks from dropping to 16-10 on the stats and they currently sit at number two spot in the NBA’s Eastern Conference, while The Jazz hold number one seed in the Western Conference.
Utah sit at 21-5, while The Lakers are 21-6, ahead of their decisive face-off on February 24, when The Jazz and LA meet for the first time this season, but Antetokounmpo, who has played both in the ongoing campaign already, has already signaled where his vote is going.
In January, The Bucks dropped a close contest against The Lakers, who won the game 113-106, with Antetokounmpo netting 25 points and 12 rebounds, but he is not allowing any sentiments sway his thoughts as he gives the nod all the way to Utah Jazz.
‘The Greek Freak’ conceded: “We played a game against the best team in the West. They’ve been playing amazing. They won — with this game —17 out of their last 18. They’re playing good.
”They’re moving the ball. They’re making threes. They’re finding their rollers. They’re keeping it simple. They’re going to the foul line. They are pretty much doing everything. They are having fun.”
