Shanghai Shenhua Ladies of China winger, Francesca Ordega is relishing her debut season with the top-flight squad, which she joined at the start of the campaign and was able to help clinch second position on the league’s final table, megasportsarena.com reports.
Aside ending up as runners-up in her first season with the Shanghai-based club, for whose male team former Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Jude Ighalo plays, Ordega disclosed that she is equally happy to get a silver medal from the Chinese Women’s Cup, and expressed hope that better days lie ahead of her with the team in the next campaign.
The Benue State-born Super Falcons’ star, who played for Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa and Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt as well as the overseas quintet of Rossiyanka, Piteå IF, Washington Spirit, Sydney FC and Atlético Madrid, stated that she was truly delighted with her achievement with Shenhua Ladies in the 2019 Chinese Women’s Super League (CWSL) season.
The 25-year-old Ordega, who joined the Shanghai club one year deal until December 2019 from United States’ National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side, Washington Spirit, where she made 63 appearances in a four-year spell, took to her social media platform to show her excitement.
Ordega posted: “Last game of the season, Proudly moment, one silver medal, for Chinese Women Cup, and now 2nd on the log… waoh…2019 I’m grateful… hopefully next year we do better to clinch every every (trophy). it will all end in praise today. Amen.”
