Nigeria’s female cadet national team, Flamingos have been scheduled to face their counterparts from Ghana in their next match of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers on October 31st at a venue yet to be named in the fellow-Anglophone West African country, megasportsarena.com reports.
The Flamingos will first play away for the next installment of matches in the race to the Female Cadet Mundial, following a pronouncement by Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the final three games in the qualifying series of next year’s competition to be hosted by India.
CAF stated that the Flamingos and Ghana’s girls will first clash on October 31st in Ghana while the return leg will hold three weeks later, with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expected to announce a choice for the game to hold on wither November 20 and 21.
To get to this final stage of qualifiers for India 2021, the Flamingos trounced Francophone West African nation, Guinea 11-2 on aggregate, as they won 6-1 during the first leg away in Conakry and wrapped it up with a 5-1 scoreline at Agege Stadium, Lagos.
On their own part, Ghana’s Black Maidens silenced another Anglophone West African country, Liberia 10-0 on aggregate, as Baba Nuhu’s girls made the best of hosting the second leg at Accra Sports Stadium to give themselves leverage towards the global championship billed to be hosted by India from February 17 to March 7 next year.
The other two ties in the African qualifiers will see Uganda tango Cameroon and South Africa will confront Morocco; after which winners of all the ties over two legs will qualify to represent Africa at the 2021 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
