A 5-A-Side football competition is scheduled to highlight events and activities for this year’s Camp meeting programme of Christ Chapel International Churches (CCIC), starting this Saturday at their headquarters in Amuwo-Odofin area of Lagos, megasportsarena.com reports.
CCIC general sports coordinator, Pastor Samuel Obadofin disclosed that the competition is part of the church’s annual sports awareness impartation, which will bring 10 centres together for progressive interactions through healthy rivalry in football and other sporting events, till the Camp Meeting proper starts on Wednesday.
He disclosed in a statement made available to megasportsarena.com that CCIC founder/senior pastor , Dr Tunde Joda and his wife, Ebun, will be on ground to receive guests, support the event organizers and encourage all the participants to instill proper sportsmanship in all the activities, for which he said interested members of the public are also welcome to participate.
The director of sports, who is an active member of NPA Lawn Tennis Club at Bode Thomas area of Surulere, further revealed that the football competition and other sporting events billed to hold this weekend are aimed at further boosting interest in CCIC’s efforts at propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ, with the church’s Camp Meeting also holding on an annual basis for over 30 years.
Obadofin expatiated: “CCIC’s annual Camp Meeting Awareness Through Sports comes up on October 5th at our Amuwo headquarters, with five-a-side football among events that will be competed among members from 10 centres of the church.
“There will also be healthy competition in other events, especially popular indoors games like table tennis, draughts, ludo, chess, scrabble and others. This will be followed by a public final awareness rally through some popular streets on Saturday, 12th October. The Camp Meeting proper starts on Wednesday, October 16th, and will hold until Sunday, October 20th.”
