Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper, Olufemi Kayode has declared emphatically that the team has what it takes to win this year’s CAF Confederations Cup, as he believes their determination and hard work will see them through to the title, megasportsarena.com reports.
Speaking ahead of their first match of the group stage of the second-tier continental clubs’ competition, away to Hassanir Agadir of Morocco, Kayode said all players in The Peoples’ Elephant have resolved to give their best to ensure the club’s success.
He added during Mega Sports on Star 101.5 FM, Lagos that the Aba-based club have stepped up their focus and preparations for the competition as a whole, starting with this weekend’s opening group game in Morocco, which he believes they will win.
The soft-spoken attacker stressed that Enyimba’s lofty history as two-time, back-to-back CAF Champions League winners gives them a strong pedigree, which he believes the current set of players in the team will do well to lift high and ensure they reclaim glory for the club.
Kayode stated: “We want to reclaim the continental cup for Enyimba. We believe this is a club that can always become champions of Africa, and that’s why we are determined to win all our matches in the Confederation Cup, starting with this one away in Morocco.”
