SC Heerenveen of Holland winger, Chidera Ejuke has gained massive support from his club in his decision to snub a summer transfer offer from a club in China, despite many critics opining that he has given up a dream breakthrough for his career, megasportsarena.com reports.
Moving to China could indeed appear to be a massive icing on the cake for Ejuke, who was twice dropped from the Nigerian under-17 national team, Golden Eaglets (in 2013 and 2015), but still found his way to Valarenga of Norway before hitting it big with Heerenveen this season.
He pulled off great feats in the campaign that was recently cancelled by the Dutch authorities, and he had done enough to convince many top clubs to come hunting for his signature, only for him to opt out of the first big bid coming his way, and Heerenveen have now confirmed that they also rejected the Chinese Super League club.
A report by Dutch football magazine, Voetbal International revealed further that Ejuke has been inundated with offers from clubs in United Arab Emirates and China, where an ambitious side is said to have tabled eight million euros before the lad, for whom Heerenveen have slapped an asking price of more than 14 million euros on his signature.
However, HSC are staying flexible in their demands for Ejuke, as they have not placed any fixed fee on his head and hints around the team indicate that they would be welcome to negotiations with any suitor for the 22-year-old sylful sensation.
Incidentally, further information soon emerged that Ejuke also declared that he is not interested in moving to China, in order not to diminish the value he garnered for himself this season in the Dutch Eredivisie, where he was voted top dribbler as well as netting nine goals and four assists in 25 matches.
