Eagles Must Pay Bafana Bafana Back In Their Own Coins – Ekpo

2

As the countdown gets tighter towards Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Nigeria and South Africa, former Super Eagles midfielder, Friday Ekpo has urged his compatriots to pay Bafana Bafana back in their own coins.
Ekpo recounted how the South Africans dented Nigeria’s image with a 2-0 away win in Uyo during the first leg, and he reckons it would only be fitting for them to suffer same fate at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.
Ekpo stated as much Tuesday morning on Mega Sports programme Star 101.5 FM, Lagos, during which the Senegal ’92 AFCON bronze medalist urged the Eagles to stay focused for an away win.
The former dazzling schemer, who made waves with FC 105 of Gabon at the height of his career, stressed that the Eagles must not get carried away by their recent burst of form, which shot them top of the table.
“This is a tough match, by all standards, which is why our players must stay fully focused on the match.
“Remember how South Africa came to Uyo and beat us there? That was a big setback for Nigeria’s football image.
“So, I think it would only be fitting for us to pay them back in their own coins,” Ekpo submitted.
