Bayern Munich of Germany defender, David Olatokunbo Alaba has set himself up for a massive €110m deal in the summer transfer window, as the Nigerian-born Austria international has set in motion demands for a huge payday from his next club.
Megasportsarena.com reports that the race is still on for the renowned left-back, who comes off contract in June and is sure to leave Allianz Arena, but feelers indicate that the defender’s huge money demands are already turning suitors away from him.
However, despite worries over his cash demands, ESPN reports that Alaba is still in contact with Paris-Saint Germaine of France, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea of England as well as Real Madrid and Barcelona of Spain as one of his likely destinations this summer.
The report, though, adds that Alaba is seeking €450,000-a-week and a five-year contract from the club he would pit his tent next season, which would see him earn a contract that would be worth a mammoth €110m for the entirety of his terms.
Those are the same terms he tabled before Bayern as condition for a new contract with The Bavarians, but the European and World Club Cup champions have repeatedly refused to meet those conditions, even as Alaba has been free since January 2 to commit to a pre-contract with any other willing club.
