C’Wealth Games 2022: Folashade Lawal Sets Record, Wins 2nd Gold For Nigeria  

Folashade Rafiatu Lawal set a new Commonwealth Games record on Sunday to win gold in the women’s 59kg as Team Nigeria won a 2nd gold medal in the weightlifting event.

Folashade topped the snatch event with a games record lift of 90kg and 116kg in the clean and Jerk (206kg total) in the 59kg women’s event.

She is the second Nigerian female lifter to smash the games record after Adijat Olarinoye produced a stunning lift in the women’s 55kg on Saturday.
