New arrival at Boavista of Portugal, Chidozie Awaziem has disclosed that he is determined to do well and face up to the fresh challenge he is sure to face at the top-flight club he joined last week on loan from FC Porto, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although he had initially been looking forward to eventually stamping his foot at Porto and avoid a fourth straight loan from the Primeira Liga outfit, Awaziem admitted that he just has to make the best of his latest port of call.
With that fact in mind, the former El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri utility player has now set his sights on achieving yet another impressive season, after previous successes on loan from Porto to Rizespor of Turkey, FC Nantes of France and Leganes of Spain in back-to-back succession.
The 23-year-old dreadlocks-wearing stopper-cum-full-back spent the entire 2019/20 season on loan at Leganes and, though he could not save them from relegation, Awaziem made top marks with several starting spots with the team, such that he now hopes to do better with Boavista.
With two years left on his contract at Porto, Awaziem said he wants to again to show his parent club that he deserves a place with their first team in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, though he has failed to hold down his place at the club since joining them in the summer of 2015.
Awaziem told AOIFootball.com: “I feel happy and excited to join Boavista; it’s a new challenge and I hope to have a wonderful season.”
