Miami Heat of America fast-rising sensation, Bam Adebayo was again on top of his game, as he top scored for his side in USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA) league and led them to a 109-103 win over New York Knicks, megasportsarena.com reports.
Adebayo top scored for Miami with 24 points, as all of their starters recorded double figures, while Jimmy Butler was one assist short of a triple-double, scoring 17 and having 10 rebounds, in a game that saw The Knicks with the best of the early running.
They opened up a 15-5 lead in the first quarter, but Butler sunk two free throws at 92-92 with 5:34 left to play and Miami kept their noses in front for the win, on a night Bradley Beal sunk 31 points but Washington Wizards fell to a 119-97 loss to Charlotte Hornets.
Terry Rozier scored 26 and Gordon Hayward added 25, as The Wizards lost their second in a row, while Donovan Mitchell got 27 points and had 11 assists as Utah Jazz defeated Indiana Pacers 103-95, De’Aaron Fox had 36 to help Sacramento Kings see off Los Angeles Clippers 113-110 and Phoenix Suns beat Boston Celtics 100-91.
The following day, Los Angeles Lakers needed overtime to extend their winning streak to five with a 119-112 victory over Oklahoma City Thunder, as LeBron James had his third triple-double of the season with 28 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists, including a dunk in extended period to seal the win.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had kept the game going, sinking three free throws with 1.2 seconds left to force the extra period, but The Thunder were outscored 9-2 in the extra five minutes, while Milwaukee Bucks also won their fifth match on the trot.
Khris Middleton netted 29 and Giannis Adetokunbo (Antetokounmpo) got 30, as they saw off Denver Nuggets 125-112, while Nikola Jokic had 35 points for Denver, who have now lost three in a row, while Bradley Beal had another busy night.
Beal netted 35 for Washington Wizards in their 105-101 win over Chicago Bulls, as Toronto Raptors overcame Memphis Grizzlies 128-113 and Dallas Mavericks defeated Minnesota Timberwolves 127-122, while Stephen Curry had 32 points but Golden State Warriors lost 105-100 to San Antonio Spurs.
Curry took his side to within one point when he scored a lay-up with 37.8 seconds left, but Dejounte Murray hit a crucial three-pointer 25 seconds later in the victory, while Phoenix Suns beat Cleveland Cavaliers 119-113 and Charlotte Hornets saw off Victor Oladipo’s Houston Rockets 119-94.
