Everton of England utility player, Alex Iwobi will not be in action this weekend for The Toffees, as coach of the side, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the Super Eagles playmaker is nursing an injury, which has ruled him out of the English A up fixture with Sheffield Wednesday.
Megasportsarena.com can report that Ancelotti affirmed that he will have to make do without the former Arsenal star for the fourth round FA Cup encounter on Sunday, ahead of which an earlier report hinted that Iwobi had suffered a niggle in training.
While ruling Iwobi out of this weekend’s Cup fixture, though, the Italian tactician added that he expects the often inconsistent yet back-to-form star to be fit for The Toffees’ English Premier League clash with Leicester City three days later.
That would mark another milestone of sort for Iwobi, who recently became one of Everton’s most used players this season, with 19 appearances in all competitions, while playing from a multiple of positions – including right winger, left winger, left wing-back, right wing-back and fullback.
For now though, it is ‘no-show’ for Iwobi, who has 12 appearances in the FA Cup since making his debut in the competition, with 11 previously coming during his time with Arsenal, but Ancelotti confirmed that the star will not see action this Sunday.
Ancelotti said: “We have Dominic available for the game. Unfortunately, we have some players out like Gbamin, Allan, Delph, Digne, Iwobi and Nkounkou. Iwobi and Digne will be unavailable for only this game – they will be available for the game against Leicester.”
