Bayern Munich of Germany defender, David Olatokunbo Alaba will not be moving to FC Barcelona of Spain this summer, if the words of his agent, Pini Zahavi are anything to go by, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although several media reports in major European sports publications have stated in recent time that the Nigerian-born left-back could be at Camp Nou before next season, Zahavi has denied those suggestions.
He also dismissed widespread speculation his client has reached a verbal agreement with Barca over a switch to Camp Nou this summer, even as it appears to be a foregone conclusion tat the 28-year-old Austria international will leave Bayern on a free transfer at the end of June.
Consequently, several top clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool of England as well as Real Madrid and Barcelona of Spain, continue to be credited with interest in his services.
Though Madrid had earlier reportedly been leading the chase for the versatile star, it has recently been claimed that Barca have already reached a verbal agreement with Alaba over a switch.
Zahavi, though, has now told goal.com that is false to report that any agreement has been reached, even as Alaba is believed to be in talks with a number of clubs in the English Premier League, as he weighs up his options ahead of next season.
