Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi has been cast in doubt for action with his English Premier League club this weekend, as he is yet to resume training with the squad and is already way behind in their pre-season build-up, megasportsarena.com reports.
The Foxes will tango Sheffield Wednesday in their next build-up match on Saturday, but all odds are hanging against Ndidi getting a taste of action, as reports out of King Power Stadium indicate that he has not resumed for pre-season with the team that will campaign this term in the UEFA Europa League.
This comes amidst rising transfer speculation linking him with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal of England, Paris Saint-Germain of France as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid of Spain, and fans of the 2016 Premier League champions are already apprehensive of what awaits the Super Eagles’ star heading into the new season.
Ndidi looks certain to miss out against The Owls, as he has not trained with his pals all through this week and he missed their first match of the summer, when they defeated Birmingham City 2-0 at Wast Hills training ground on Wednesday.
The official explanation, though, is that Ndidi is undergoing a mandatory medical isolation upon his return to England from holiday and a source close to the ex-Nath Boys of Lagos and Racing Genk of Belgium player insists the lad has no intention of leaving The Foxes this summer.
The 23-year-old Ndidi, who has a contract with Leicester until the summer of 2024, after signing a new deal in 2018, is now expected back in full training after Saturday’s friendly fixture against Sheffield Wednesday at Loughborough University.
