FC Lorient of France striker, Terem Moffi has declared that he is determined to keep firing on all cylinders for the club he joined last summer, and says he will do everything to help them improve their fortunes so far this season in the French Ligue 1, megasportsarena.com reports.
Moffi’s declaration, though, comes at a point fellow-Nigerian attacker in the French Ligue 1, FC Nantes winger, Moses Simon bowed out with an injury and is set to miss a long line of matches for his side, starting with his weekend’s fixture against Montpellier.
This is sequel to an official announcement by Nantes that the 25-old Simon, who has scored two goals in 15 matches this season, sprained his ankle in training on Thursday morning, meaning he will not be available for his side, who are 17th on the table with 16 points from 18 matches, and they are just three points outside the relegation zone.
On the other hand, while Lorient again slumped to defeat against Henry Onyekuru’s AS Monaco in the middle of this week, Moffi was happy to enact a personal piece of excellence when he netted with a sublime chipped and, though his side went on to lose 5-2, he is of a view that things will soon improve for them.
His was speaking in the wake of the Ligue 1 encounter at Stade du Moustoir on Wednesday, as the 21-year-old in-form lad drew the home team level after 31 minutes when he latched on to a through pass and coolly chipped over the hapless Monaco shot-stopper, Vito Mannone.
Though Moffi also had another goal disallowed for a marginal offside before he was replaced by Adrian Grbic in the 74th minutes, the young striker is keeping his spirit high and took his social media handle to declared how determined he is to help his team resurrect, following their defeat at home by Monaco.
Moffi, who has scored thrice in 12 league appearances for his new club as Lorient have now slipped to 19th on the 20-team Ligue 1 table with 12 points from 18 matches, posted: ‘We gonna fight till the end. All praise to The Most High God.”
