Former home-based Eagles’ winger, Sunday Faleye has been forced to go club hunting in the ongoing January transfer window, following a shock decision by Austrian second division club, FC Wacker Innsbruck to send him packing, megasportsarena.com reports.
The once-highly promising ad delectable lad will now have to see a fresh career path, after Wacker disclosed that he had been released from a two-year contract that was billed to run until this summer, with an option to give him an additional year’s deal.
However, Wacker will not take up that option for the 22-year-old lad, as they have already got his replacement, having signed on Anel Hadzic to fill in for the former Shooting Stars of Ibadan fleet-footed lad, who initially joined the Innsbruck-based side in the 2019/20 season and scored four goals in 23 appearances during his maiden campaign with the side.
However, things took a dip for him this season, as he was yet to score in six appearances and his inconsistency caused disaffection for him in the club, which opted to loan him to a sister team in the lower regional league, but things never turned round for the better for the former under-23 national team and home-based Eagles’ winger.
