Crotone of Italy striker, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo (Simy) is set to dump some tempting offers that could see him play in the English Premier League, as he prefers staying put in the Italian Serie A, megasportsarena.com reports.
Having tasted another feel of action in the Italian top-flight, Simy is holding out for another spell on the peninsula, where he has this season romped in a record-equaling number of goals by an African player.
In spite of his inability to save Crotone from relegation, Simy’s burst of goals have endeared him to many a scout, such that renowned transfer market guru, Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed that the tall striker, who has gained a recall to the Super Eagles’ could opt for a deal with SS Lazio of Italy, instead of looking further at the most attractive offer for him in the English Championship.
The report adds that, while the English lower division side are battling to convince Simy on accepting a move to England, the 29-year-old former Portimonense Futebol SAD and Gil Vicente of Portugal star wants to continue playing in the Italian top-flight.
Simy, who comes off contract in June 2022, is valued in the region of eight million euro by Crotone, with which he took his tally for the season to 20 goals after finding the net in a 1-1 draw with Benevento on Sunday.
