Girondins-Bordeaux of France winger, Samuel Kalu will be heading out of Owerri next week, as he will eventually have to call off his unexpected holiday that was made possible by the incidence of coronavirus pandemic, but his club now want him back urgently, megasportsarena.com reports.
With France set to open up once again, and sporting action bound to return, Bordeaux have told Kalu to head back to their base next week, with a declaration that he should be back by the end of this month, which is next Thursday, April 30th.
This is sequel to a pronouncement by the president of France, Emmanuel Macron that the current lockdown caused by coronavirus will end on May 11, and Bordeaux plan to resume training four days later, hence their directive to Kalu to be back next week, as he will need to go through a period of self-isolation after returning to base.
Aside Kalu, who has made 20 appearances in the French Ligue 1, across a total of 1,360 minutes of action under his boots and a goal, two other players are also expected back with him, as the same directive has gone out to the duo of Vukasin Jovanovic and Edson Mexer.
All three were allowed to return to their respective countries to spend time with their families in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic, but French daily, L’Equipe reports that Bordeaux have now ordered them all back to base, in anticipation of training resuming early in May.
