Aston Villa of England youngster, Ruben Shakpoke has gained a round of applause from the Birmingham-based English Premier League club’s academy coach, Mark Harrison, after he signed his first professional contract with the side, megasportsarena.com reports.
Harrison’s declaration came just after the son of former Super Eagles’ right-back, Jero Shakpoke admitted he was thrilled with the opportunity granted him by Villa to sign his first professional contract, before which he made two appearances in the U18 English Premier League, with his outings being against Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.
The 17-year-old Ruben, who joined Villa on a scholarship contract last October from Norwich City, has now seen his deal at Villa Park upgraded to a professional contract, much to the delight of Harrison, who reckoned that The Villans will still a lot more wonderful things from the fast-rising youngster.
Harrison told Villa’s official website: “We are delighted Ruben has signed his first professional contract with us. His game time has been hampered by injury but once he his back fully fit we look forward to him fulfilling his potential, which is very clear to see.”
