Barcelona Femeni of Spain attacker, Asisat Oshoala (Super Zee) is set to tango her former club, Arsenal of England in the UEFA Women’s Champions League early next month, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is sequel to the outcome of the draw ceremony for this season’s competition that held on Monday, from which Oshoala’s side were grouped alongside The Gunners;’ female squad, which the Super Falcons’ star played for after arriving from fellow-English rivals, Liverpool.
The draw came less than 24 hours after Oshoala scored twice for Barca Ladies away to Real Betis to prove she has fully recovered from Coronavirus and she opened her goals’ account for the new season, while also proving that she deserves an improved contract from the Catalan Ladies.
Heading into the October 5 commencement of action, Oshoala’s side have been placed in Group C along with Arsenal, HB Koge of Denmark and TSG Hoffenheim, with the four-time African Women Footballer of The Year keen on battling the London-based side she represented for a year.
She will also tango a compatriot along the line, as Koge have in their ranks Nigerian-born Denmark under-19 international defender, Isabella Bryld Obaze, who made her Champions League debut against Sparta Prague of Czech Republic on September 1.
On the other hand, Christy Ucheibe’s Benfica have been drawn against Olympique Lyon of France, Bayern Munich of Germany and BK Hacken of Sweden in Group D, after seeing off Maccabi Kiryat Gat, Lëtzebuerg and FC Twente to qualify for the group stage.
