Former Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is set to be officially unveiled this Thursday by Al-Shabab of Saudi Arabia, who are reportedly close to signing him from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua of China, megasportsarena.com reports.
Ighalo was initially set to rejoin Shanghai after his loan spell came to an end at Manchester United of England on Sunday, but Al-Shabab have reportedly reached an agreement with his Chinese Super League side for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer’s transfer.
The 31-year-old Ighalo, who is currently cooling off in Dubai, following his departure from Man United, will jet off to Riyadh on Monday to complete the formalities of his transfer to Al-Shabab, thereby officially ending his romance with Shenhua, with which he scored 10 goals in 19 games.
Having agreed personal terms with the six-time Saudi Pro League champions, Ighalo will put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal if he passes his medical and could be unveiled by his new team on Thursday.
Ighalo is also said to be eager to quickly commence a new chapter of his itinerant career at Al-Shabab, where he opted to take his latest berth simply because he wanted a change of scenery from long and tiring flights from China.
