Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi is set to stay out for ten days, after copping another hamstring in action with his club last Wednesday in the English Premier League, megasportsarena.com reports.
Following just 42 minutes of action in the encounter, before bowing out with his latest knock, the latest report out King Power Stadium indicates that Ndidi will miss Leicester’s upcoming EPL games against Leeds United and Fulham.
This is the ominous worry of The Foxes’ coach, Brendan Rodgers, who revealed during Friday’s press conference that the former Nath Boys of Lagos and Racing Genk of Belgium central-defender-turned-midfielder faces at least one week on the sidelines due to a hamstring issue.
He hinted further that Ndidi would be in a race against time to be fit for The Foxes’ clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers on February 7, as the 27-year-old battler appeared really hurt when he went down in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Everton, and he even seemed to be playing with pain before his substitution just before half time.
This is another blow for Ndidi, who only returned to action on December 3 after two months out, as a result of surgery he had to correct an adductor problem, and he has now been ruled out alongside Jamie Vardy from Rodgers’ squad selection for Sunday’s visit of Leeds United.
Rodgers disclosed as much as he stated: “It’s just a slight tear. He will be [out for] a week to 10 days, which is unfortunate, but sometimes hamstrings can be much longer than that.
“It’s the same test we’ve had all season when we’ve had players missing. Jamie is a top-class player, so is Wilf, but we’ve managed to get good results consistently over the season.”
