Leicester City of England midfielder, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi has gained support from Nigerian-born former Aston Villa winger, Gabriel Agbonlahor in ongoing talk about a possible transfer to Arsenal for the Super Eagles’ youngster, megasportsarena.com reports.
While Ndidi is currently injured and ruled out for at lest three weeks after receiving surgery on Thursday, talk has not abated over his chances of joining Arsenal in a big money move sometime this year, and ‘Gabby’ has now disclosed that he is full support of such happening.
Although Agbonlahor never got to play for Nigeria before retirement, as he preferred to keep his allegiance with England, despite only being restricted to B-team matches, he is now exuding the African in him, with reference to what Ndidi and Arsenal stand to gain should a much touted union materialize between them.
The former fleet-footed attacker-cum winger, however, admitted that the January transfer window might come too soon for The Gunners’ new coach, Mikel Areta to make a move for the Eagles’ midfielder, but he is making a strong case for a summer move for Ndidi, who has played 20 English Premier League matches this season.
He told Stadium Astro programme: “Arteta will look at him and think he can do a job now. When the summer comes he may be looking for someone, because Arteta can’t buy any players in January.”
