Former Super Eagles’ winger, Victor Moses is in a dilemma of choice, as he still has a contract running with Chelsea of England, and he will have to tear it up in order to seal a deal with Spartak Moscow of Russia.
Moses is eager to stay put in Moscow, where he enjoyed a decent run of form and goals in the past campaign, while playing on loan from Chelsea, and he ended up winning the Moscow-based side’s player of the season award.
Megasportsaena.com gathered that the development has spurred him more than ever to seek a full contract with The Muscovites, but the biggest obstacle in that desire is that he has been retained in Chelsea’s squad list for the upcoming season.
A report by allnigeriasoccer.com noted that Moses’ name has been cited in Chelsea’s retained list for the upcoming season and, with the roster already published on the EPL’s official website, the immediate future has been cast in doubt for the former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic dazzler, who moved to Spartak on loan last October.
Moses’ contract at Stamford Bridge would have run out on June 30, but he apparently signed a new deal for at least an additional year’s extension before heading to Russia, which has now put a clog on his chances of finally escaping from his nine-year association with Chelsea.
Nonetheless, Moses could still be on his way in a full deal at Spartak when the transfer market officially opens for business, as the Moscow-based side have activated a mandatory purchase clause in his contract following their qualification for the UEFA Champions League.
This comes few days after Moses won Spartak’s Player of the Month award for May, to cap a pretty good season in Russia, where he notched two assists and a goal in three matches last month.
In doing so, the 30-year-old winger-cum-wing-back helped Spartak secure a second-place finish in the Russian Premier League season, during which he scored a total of four goals and assisted same number in 19 league matches.
