Former Super Eagles’ defender, Michael Emenalo has been linked with the job of sporting director at AC Milan of Italy, with strong possibilities looming that he will take over the duty post at the end of this season, megasportsarena.com has learnt.
Information on offer from The Land of The Azurri indicates that Emenalo, who is also a former technical director at both Chelsea of England and AS Monaco of France, is already in talks with The Rossoneri about stepping aboard this summer.
The report by Corriere dello Sport adds that Emenalo is being strongly linked to take over the dual-roles of Milan’s current chief football officer, Zvonimir Boban and technical director, Paolo Maldini at the end of this season, as the club aim to collapse both offices into one.
An additional report by Tuttomercatoweb further disclosed that the former Notts County of England left-back, who played for Nigeria at the Super Eagles’ maiden World Cup outing in USA ’94, has already held a meeting with Milan’s management about taking over the club’s office duties in the technical department.
It will be another high-profile job for the 54-year-old Emenalo, who spent ten years at Chelsea, first as chief scout before he was promoted to technical director, during which time they won three English Premier League titles, three in the FA Cup as well as one League Cup, Europa and Champions League, but he has been jobless since leaving Monaco, where he spent two years.
