Real Madrid of Spain youth team player, Marvin Akinlabi Park is reportedly attracting January transfer interest from Italian Serie B side, US Lecce, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although the lad with a Nigerian father and Korean mother is yet to stamp his foot in the main team at Santiago Bernabeu, the report out of The Land of The Azzurri indicates that Kwame Ayew’s former club are interested in signing Akinlabi.
Serie B News claims Lecce’s Technical Director Pantaleo Corvino is planning to hold talks with the leadership of Real Madrid concerning the signing of Akinlabi, who is eligible to play internationally for Nigeria, Spain and South Korea.
Akinlabi, who was teammates with Pablo Rodríguez, who joined Lecce in the summer transfer window and the duo were key members of the Real Madrid squad that won the UEFA Youth League in August 2020, could follow Christian Ndubuisi Obodo and Edward Ofere as the next Nigrian lad at La Giallorossi.
Akinlabi has trained multiple times with Real Madrid’s first team and became the first player of Nigerian descent to feature for Los Blancos main squad when he was introduced off the bench by Los Blancos’ coach, Zinedine Zidane in a La Liga tie against Real Sociedad back in September.
All this is despite additional reports indicating that Akinlabi is under contract with the Spanish champions until the end of the 2020/21 season and it is claimed that Lecce are hoping to seal his transfer in January or next summer.
