Former Super Eagles’ striker, Stephen Ayodele Makinwa is celebrating his successful brokering of a summer transfer for Ghanaian midfielder, Joachim Adukor, who has put pen on paper with a deal at Diósgyőri VTK of Hungary, megasportsarena.com reports.
Having set a glorious track record with similar deals for a legion of his compatriots, among which are Eddy Ogenyi Onazi, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, Blessing Eleke, Stanley Amuzie, Ezekiel Henty and Musa Mohammed, Makinwa has taken his tentacles to the West Coast, with Adukor now becoming his first non-Nigerian catch.
Makinwa is now delighted that he has been able to move the 26-year-old Adukor to Diósgyőri from FK Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where he won the double, in clinching the Bosnian Premier League and Cup.
The former Ghana Youth midfielder, who has previously played for Gefle IF in the Swedish Allsvenskan, Portuguese Segunda Liga side Trofense, AS Béziers in France as well as Greek Club OFI Crete, leaves FK Sarajevo after playing with the club for just a season.
Makinwa was, however, able to seal an early summer deal for Adukor at Diósgyőri because the battler impressed last season, with a goal and two assists in 19 appearances for Sarajevo.
The new arrival in Hungary has now been tipped to be a good fit and well nurtured catch for Diósgyőri in the 2019/20 campaign, despite arriving as a free agent, after taking that decision to cut short his stay in Sarajevo and took up an option to negotiate with the interested club.
Before sealing the deal early this week, Adukor had been training with Diósgyőri, after the side expressed interest in his services, and the top-flight club’s management then reached an agreement with Makinwa, which paved way for the player to sign a pre-contract.
The hardworking midfielder, an ex-Ghana under-23 team player, is the fifth summer signing by DVTK, and is expected to replicate the form he displayed as a utility midfielder last season in Bosnia with his new side, as they eye dominance in Hungary.
Adukor’s new club finished 10th in the 12-team Premier League last season, but Makinwa says they will get a better performance in the coming campaign, with their latest catch sure to make things happen.
Makinwa stated: “Happy to announce the signing of @adukor_ to @dvtkinstagram #makozgroup #summertransfer #hungary #dvtk — in Miskolc, Hungary.”
