Chievo Verona of Italy midfield dazzler, Joel Chukwuma Obi has received an offer that could tempt him to make a return to Turkey, where he previously played for Alanyaspor, but it could be a bigger deal this time out, megasportsarena.com reports.
This is sequel to reports that the former Super Eagles’ star has attracted attention from Beşiktaş, who have a long history of Nigerian players; dating back to the glorious days of Daniel ‘The Bull’ Amokachi, Ike Shorunmu and Michael Eneramo, but they are now considering the option of adding Obi as well.
A report by TG Gialloblu added that Beşiktaş are already in talks with Joel, who previously had a loan spell at Alanyaspor in 2019 but failed to live up to expectations for the Mediterranean team then handled by Sergen Yalçın; as the lad from Delta State played just two Turkish Super Lig games throughout his six months stay in Turkey.
Another Turkish sports publication, Fanatik added that Obi is eager to leave Chievo before the summer transfer window closes and Beşiktaş have stepped up their chase after The Flying Donkeys’ Italian league rivals, Spezia pulled out of talks with the skilful midfielder, who has 17 caps with Nigeria.
