Glasgow Rangers of Scotland midfielder, Joe Aribo is looking ahead of this Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone with excitement and determination, as he says he wants to be at his very best during the game, in order to make it very tough for the visitors.
Megasportsarena.com reports that, while beaming with enthusiasm that he will get a shirt and role to play for the Super Eagles in the encounter at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, the former Charlton Athletic of England sensation stressed that he wants to help Nigeria get maximum points at home.
The lad, who was born in England but his father hails from Ondo State, arrived at the Nigerian camp in Benin City on Tuesday, full of confidence after scoring two of his team’s goals in their 8-0 demolition of Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.
The Cupid-faced lad, who started his Eagles career on a bright note, as he netted in back-to-back international friendly matches against Ukraine and Brazil, is now looking forward to another goal for Nigeria this Friday, as he declared that is never tired of scoring and he wants to keep doing so with every match he plays.
With the exception of the Eagles’ 4-2 win over Lesotho last November, Aribo has gone the distance in all matches he has played for Nigeria shirt but, having failed to find the net in his last two competitive appearances for the team, he is now targeting his third international goal.
Aribo told Super Eagles TV: “I’m enjoying it here in Benin. It’s very overwhelming and I’m happy to see that the fans are here with us and they’re supporting us so it’s a good feeling.
“I bring energy, I want to play fast and just make it hard for my opponent and win the game of course. Hopefully by God’s grace, that’s the aim, I want to score goals every single game I play but I want to just do all I can for the team to get the result that we can get.”
