Bayern Munich of Germany youngster, Jamal Musiala appears set to leave the German Bundesliga side, following his insistence on getting an improved contract worth £100,000-per-week and he is now deadlocked over talks to renew his deal with The Bavarians.
Musiala is the rave of the moment at Allianz Arena, after breaking a host of records at the club in 2020, and the former Chelsea of England youth team player’s agents are now trying to take full advantage of his surging status by seeking vastly improved contract trappings for him.
Megasportsarena.com gathered that their argument is that the youngster has grown in quality since arriving from Chelsea in 2017 and he is chasing a lucrative new deal with the European champions, from whom the 17-year-old attacker wants a bumper £100,000-per-week deal.
Dramatically, Musiala has already been linked with interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City of England, even as he is currently still on a youth contract, which has just 18 months left to run and a further impasse in talks could lead to his transfer in the summer.
Although Musiala’s demands are high, interest from the top three English Premier League clubs and his tally of new records since knocking earnestly on the door of Bayern’s first team, make his representatives believe the lad he has already proven his worth.
The England under-21 national team player, who is the youngest player to both score and play for Bayern in the Bundesliga and has made 18 appearances for Hansi Flick’s side this season, was hooked with a minimal fee from Chelsea’s academy, at a point The Blues offered him one of the biggest scholar deals they ever gave.
However, he turned down Chelsea’s offer in favour of the move to Bayern, who put forward at that time what appeared to be a very impressive development plan to the youngster, and the agents believe Musiala’s fast-tracked pathway to the first team has vindicated the move to the Bundesliga.
The same agents now believe he needs to be boosted financially and encouraged in his ambition to reach the next level, but his ongoing contract stalemate and the eventual decision could have wider implications for his international future, with both England and Germany fighting to hook the Nigerian-born lad at senior level.
Born in Stuttgart to a German mother and British-Nigerian father, Musiala began his career at TSV Lehnerz in his hometown of Fulda before moving to England as an eight-year-old, then shot into the football spotlight at Chelsea, where he looked to be primed for the future until The Blues surprisingly sold him to Bayern.
Back in November, Musiala gained lots of attention from England’s under-21 national team coach, Aidy Boothroyd, who hinted that the youngster would be part of his squad to the European U-21 Championship that begins in the March international break.
Boothroyd said: “He has definitely increased game time. We don’t know, but he might have a growth spurt and he hasn’t even finished growing yet. I saw him against Atletico Madrid the other day and he didn’t look out of place against that massive array of talent for Bayern Munich.”
