Giannis Adetokunbo Makes History In Winning NBA Title With Milwaukee

Milwaukee Bucks of America sensation, Giannis Adetokunbo (Antetokounmpo) has enacted history with the club by winning USA’s National Basketball Association (NBA) league title with the team, megasportsarena.com reports.

‘The Greek Freak,’ a Nigerian-born Greece international and back-to-back NBA most valuable player, was the star performer on the night, as he led The Bucks to their first title in 50 years with a 105-98 victory over Phoenix Suns.

The Bucks lost the first two of their best-of-seven series but took the next four games to seal the title in front of their own fans on Tuesday.

Two-time MVP Antetokounmpo scored 50 points and posted 14 rebounds to lead the Bucks to their second championship, following their victory in 1971.

The achievement saw the Greek 26-year-old, who was named Finals MVP, become just the seventh player to score 50 points in an NBA finals game.

Antetokounmpo also had five crucial blocks in the game played in front of 17,000 fans at Fiserv Forum, while Chris Paul top scored for the Suns with 26 points.

The Bucks needed every one of their star forward’s points after the Suns came back from an early deficit to lead 49-42 at halftime.

Antetokounmpo went hard in the second half, scoring 32 points and going 16-for-17 from the foul line as he continually charged at the rim en route to victory.

He was ably supported by Khris Middleton, who came up with multiple clutch buckets down the stretch to keep the Suns at bay.

Phoenix, meanwhile, were left to rue some poor three-point shooting, which had been their bread-and-butter for most of the season.

The team shot just 6 from 25 from the deep with Devin Booker, who finished with 19 points, missing all seven of his attempts from beyond the arc.

After emerging as the 2021 NBA Finals’ MVP, Antetokounmpo spoke about reaching the sport’s pinnacle with the Bucks after eight seasons in the league, as he declared emphatically: “This is the way to do it.”

Giannis was joined by his brothers, Thanasis and Kostas, on the podium of history, as all three basketball giants become the first trio of siblings to win NBA titles.

The record books show that, when The Bucks won the NBA championship on Tuesday night, Giannis and Thanasis followed Kostas in becoming NBA champions.

Not only did that win even the score between Giannis, Thanasis, and Kostas, it also made NBA history, as the Antetokounmpo siblings are the first trio of brothers to win NBA titles.

Until Tuesday night, only one set of brothers had each won an NBA title: Pau and Marc Gasol; but Kostas can no longer use the NBA ring he won with Los Angeles Lakers to taunt his brothers.

Unfortunately, Thanasis wasn’t able to be with his team when they won. He missed Game 5 and Game 6 after being placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocol, and has been quarantining at a hotel.

However, Giannis called him as soon as he got the chance, and chose to broadcast their hearty brotherly conversation on Instagram Live.

He was very aware of the fact that Kostas had a ring and he and Thanasis did not, such that when ESPN’s Malika Andrews asked Giannis about it during the post-game ceremony, he had funny answer waiting.

Giannis stated curtly: “Obviously at the dinner table it was awkward a little bit because he had the ring before me. But now me and Thanasis have ours so we’re happy. I’m a f**king champion, nobody can take that away from me.”
