Arsenal of England youngster, Folarin Balogun has found a sensational transfer link coming his way from English Premier League title holders, Liverpool, as The Reds are reportedly keen on luring him over to Anfield, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although Balogun is yet to cement his place in Arsenal’s main team, he has put up some brilliant performances when ever called upon to fill in for missing senior players, while also excelling in the youth league, such that the interest from Liverpool might not be misplaced after all.
Aside interest from Liverpool, the lad born in New York City, which makes him eligible to play for United States of America at full international level, is also said to be drawing attention from a couple of other clubs in the EPL as well as some in the German Bundesliga.
The report out of Queensland adds that Liverpool and host of other top teams are monitoring Balogun with a view to a transfer in the summer, while British newspaper, Athletic disclosed that The Reds are planning an audacious swoop to sign the England under-20 international on a free transfer.
VfB Stuttgart of Germany are also keen on a deal for Balogun, who has made five first team appearances and has three goals for the club he joined as an eight-year-old, and the Bundesliga club’s sporting director, Sven Mislintat remembers the youngster from his days of working as head of scouting at Arsenal until February 2019.
Arsenal rejected a bid from Sheffield United for Balogun in the summer and Brentford Town were also priced out of a move in the January transfer window but, while The Gunners have offered him a new deal, the negotiations are at a standstill.
Balogun appears ready to leave Emirates Stadium, as he fears he would not get playing opportunities if he extends his stay, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli are all ahead of him in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order of strikers.
