Chelsea of England defender, Fikayo Tomori has been encouraged to make a switch to The Blues’ English Premier League rivals, Leeds United this month, as they have crated space for him as a replacement for a departing player, megasportsarena.com reports.
To further confirm that Fikayo will not be heading for more time on the bench should he accept to leave Stamford Bridge on loan to Leeds in the ongoing transfer window, the dark-skinned stopper, who was born to Nigerian parents in Canada but grew up in England now knows what he stands to gain at the EPL newcomers.
The Nigerian-born England international has fallen out of favour with Chelsea’s coach, Frank Lampard, the same man that handled him while on loan at lower division side, Derby County in the season before last, having been limited to just 45 minutes of league action.
This is in contrast with how the 23-year-old Tomori broke into Chelsea’s first team last season under their transfer embargo and went on to make a total of 15 league appearances, but the summer arrival of Thiago Silva has pushed him down the pecking order.
However, BBC Sport has now reported that Leeds United are eyeing Tomori, who has now received a strong bait to accept a move to Elland Road this month, as The Lilly Whites’ coach, Marcelo Bielsa is in the market for a new defender following a long-term knee injury to one of his back-four regulars, Robin Koch.
