Chelsea of England defender, Fikayo Tomori appears set to snub a promising offer that came his way early last month from Stade Rennes of France as he prefers staying put in Queensland and looks ready to accept a lighter deal from fellow-London-based side, West Ham United, megasportsarena.com reports.
With the aura of the British capital still hogging his mind, the lad who was born in Canada, but is already an England second string international, is wont to stay put in the country where he grew up, such that he is willing to accept The Hammers’ lightweight cash bid.
A report by British tabloid, The Sun earlier noted that Rennes were in pole position to snatch Tomori, who spent last season on loan from Chelsea at Derby County in the lower cadre English Championship, but the French side have now dropped behind West Ham.
This is sequel to preferences harbored by the out of favour Chelsea centre-back, who was initially being tipped to make another loan move out of Stamford Bridge, but latest reports now suggest that West Ham are eyeing a permanent deal for him.
This is in spite of reminders that the 23-year-old stopper rejected a move to West Ham in the summer, when he pulled out of the deal just hours before the deadline fell, but a lack of game time so far this season could force him into rethink, especially with The Hammers desperate to land a defender in January.
