Chelsea of England defender, Fikayo Tomori has received fresh applause from his club coach, Frank Lampard, whose verdict for the youngster is that his performances so far this season mean he deserves the new contract he got last week at Stamford Bridge, megasportsarena.com reports.
With the Nigerian-born England international, who is also a citizen of Canada, making the best of his days under Lampard in only his first full season with The Blues, after several previous loan deals outside, Tomori has found his value escalating within a short while.
Lampard has now reflected on their days together at Derby County in the past season, when Tomori was on loan with the English Championship outfit, while the former Chelsea midfielder was their gaffer, and the player-turned-coach admitted he is happy to see the dark-skinned lad develop so fast within a short time.
He went on to declare that he is happy with Tomori’s new deal wioth the former English Premier League champions, as the defender recently committed his long-term future to the London club by signing a new five-year contract.
Lampard concluded: “He’s been playing fantastically well since I had him at Derby and then this season he’s shown it in the Premier League and absolutely deserves his new contract.”
