Augsburg of Germany defender, Felix Uduokhai has been confirmed with a full contract that will keep him with the club beyond this summer, and he will no longer return to his parent club, VfL Wolfsburg at the end of the current campaign, megasportsarena.com reports.
The Nigerian-born stopper had initially been billed to return to The Wolves after a loan deal at the end of the ongoing season, which resumed penultimate weekend, after a forced suspension caused by coronavirus, but Wolfsburg have now agreed to let him stay put with their German Bundesliga rivals.
Wolfsburg confirmed that Uduokhai is staying put at Augsburg because they exercised their option to buy the 22-year-old central defender, who had been on loan since the start of the season, but will no longer head back to the team with which he made 37 appearances and got three goals in all competitions before moving to his current base three years ago.
Uduokhai joined Wolfsburg in the summer of 2017, after spells with the youth teams of VfB Annaberg, Erzgebirge Aue and 1860 Munich, after which he went on to log a total of 1,601 minutes in 22 Bundesliga games for Augsburg, who have now decided to sign him in a full deal, after the lad with ten caps for Germany’s youth teams excelled during nine months on loan.
