Chelsea of England youngster, Faustino Anjorin has escaped all permutations about a potential departure on loan in the coming month, as The Blues’ top grass have decided to retain him for the season, megasportsarena.com reports.
In contrast with initial speculation out of Stamford Bridge that Anjorin could be on his way to a smaller club, in order to further develop in the professional ranks, the latest word out of Stamford Bridge is that he is staying put.
Details of the report by British newspaper, The Athletic revealed that Chelsea’s top shots have decided not to loan out the England youth international during the January transfer window, despite getting fervid offers from some clubs in the English Premier League and Championship.
An additional report by allnigeriasoccer.com noted: “The 19-year-old is inching closer to a first team breakthrough at Chelsea, making five matchday squads since the beginning of the 2019-2020 season and handed game time against Grimsby Town, Everton and Krasnodar.
“With Chelsea still competing for honours in three competitions – Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup – manager Frank Lampard is planning to give him more playing opportunities in the second half of the season.
“Anjorin has impressed for Chelsea’s development squad this term, registering 5 goals in seven appearances combined in the Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy. 19-year-old is tied to Chelsea until the end of the 2024-2025 season.”
