Crystal Palace of England’s Nigerian-born midfielder, Eberechi Eze has received a huge spray of lofty commendations from his clubmate, Wilfried Zaha, as he Cote d’Ivoire ace says the former Queens Park Rangers star is an exciting lad to play alongside, megasportsarena.com reports.
While reflecting on the wonderful spray of passes he got from Eze last weekend, Zaha described the dreadlocks-wearing dazzler as a quality and tricky player, and acknowledged how the lad helped him score a brace in their 5-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.
The 28-year-old Zaha returned to action in style to help Roy Hodgson’s team bounce back to winning ways after back-to-back losses, with the Ivorien back in the starting line-up on Sunday, after recovering from coronavirus which kept him out of action for two weeks.
Zaha’s return came as a boost for the visitors at The Hawthorns, where the former England youth international fired Palace ahead in the second half after Conor Gallagher cancelled out Darnell Furlong’s own goal in the first 45 minutes.
Although it was Zaha’s name on the goals scorers’ chart, accolades continue rolling for Eze, who did a brilliant job to split West Brom’s defence and helped his teammate slot home his second goal in the 68th minute.
Zaha expressed excitement with the connection he has formed with Eze, who has provided two assists and a goal to his name since his summer-signing from QPR, adding: “(He) is a quality player, he literally glides through people.
“It’s nice [having] someone on your wavelength and that’s a tricky player as well because I know half of the stuff he’s going to do so I just position myself to get the ball. It’s been a joy.”
