Club Brugge of Belgium attacker, Dennis Emmanuel; Bonaventure appears set to make a spirited return from injury this weekend, as he has been tipped for a role with his squad in Sunday’s top-of-table cracker against KV Kortrijk, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although there had been initial worries over a possible long-term absence for the former under-23 national team, Olympic Eagles’ invitee, who hit the spotlight by sco9ring two goals against Real Madrid of Spain in this season’s UEFA Champions League, he is now looking good to shake off a nagging knee injury.
Information on offer from Brugge’s camp revealed that Bonaventure has fully recovered from the knee injury and will be available for Sunday’s league clash with Kortrijk, despite only recently missing the Belgium FA Cup tie against Zulte Waregem.
The 22-year-old Bonaventure missed that game after copping a knock to his knee during his side’s 2-1 win away to RSC Anderlecht, thereby curtailing his remarkable run of five goals in 16 appearances during the Belgian Jupiler League so far this season.
He, however, now has the chance to start scoring once again for Brugge, who top the league log with 52 points from 21 matches, 10 points ahead of their closest rivals, KAA Gent; with an eye on the reverse fixture of their FA Cup semi-finals’ tie with Zulte Waregem on February 5, after a 1-1 draw at home in the first leg.
