Club Brugge of Belgium attacker, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure could become the next Nigerian player to sign for an Italian Serie A club, following speculation that Atalanta of Italy are keen on a deal for him, megasportsarena.com reports.
Although Bonaventure failed to make the best of his recent loan spell from club Brugge to FC cologne of Germany, the attacker appears to have caught the fancy of Atalanta from his thrills in the UEFA Champions League.
His burst of goals against Real Madrid in the UCL and versus Manchester united of England in the UEFA Europa league are still resonating through The Land of The Azzurri, such that Bonaventure could take over from Stephen Ayodele Makinwa (Tiger Of Lagos) as the next Nigeria striker to star for Atalanta.
The report out of the Italian Peninsula adds: “Brugge may have finally shut the door against Emmanuel Dennis returning after his loan spell in Germany, just as several reports suggest Serie A side Atalanta have renewed interest to sign the forward.
“Club Brugge coach Philippe Clement has ruled out Dennis from returning to the club after his many troubles there, according to HLN. However, HLN further reported that despite failing to impress on loan at Bundesliga outfit FC Cologne, Italian club Atalanta are still interested in signing the Nigeria ace.
“At a time last season, Atalanta were front runners to even sign the player. The question now is how much will Club Brugge accept as transfer fee after they had initially hoped for as much as 25 million Euros for the former FC Zorya OF Ukraine star.”
